DON'T LET THIS RESTAURANT RIP YOU OFF with its deceptive mandatory 15% service charge. Look carefully at your receipt. I didn't notice the 15% service charge line item included in the TOTAL and wrote in an additional tip on the credit card charge slip since it contained the usual suggested tip totals and a line to enter a tip. We've been regulars for years and never noticed this dishonest practice until I read some of the reviews. We don't need to go back.

Hing Lung is a beloved neighborhood gem in San Bruno that delivers incredibly authentic Cantonese comfort food in a lively, no frills setting that feels like a true local favorite. The atmosphere is bustling and high energy, often filled with families enjoying generous portions of traditional Hong Kong style staples and the service is notably fast and efficient to keep up with the steady stream of diners. The food is the absolute star of the show, specifically their legendary Congee, which is velvety and rich, the Pork and Preserved Egg Congee is a personal standout. Other must order dishes include the HK Style Beef Chow Fun with its perfect "wok hei" (charred flavor), the succulent Honey BBQ Pork, and the crispy, flavorful Clay Pot Rice (available after 5 PM). Whether you're stopping in for their plump Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup or a plate of their expertly prepared Salt and Pepper Tofu, Hing Lung provides a satisfying and deeply authentic dining experience that keeps you coming back for more.

I have been here since they have first opened here and I usually stop by when I am craving for some authentic Chinese food or if I just so happen to be in the area. Sometimes there can be a wait, but that does not bother me since I am a very patient person. Their menu consists of many authentic Cantonese dishes, along with soup, noodle and other specialties. Everything is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity. And their portion size is more than enough where you might have to take to go. The staffs here are welcoming, well trained and understanding where they provide good service and I had never encountered an issue during any of my visits. I recommend this place to all Chinese food enthusiasts, if you are willing to try something new or to anyone that just so happen to be in the area just like me. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.

Came here at 5 pm. There are plenty of open tables. No wait. Just like the one in Chinatown. They are known for their rice porridge. They make one of the best rice porridge out there. Plenty of parking. They accept credit cards. They have that wok flavor that many other Chinese restaurants lack. Whether you have Hong Kong Style crispy noodles, Dry Beef Chow Fun, Salted fish fried rice, or rice porridge, all of them are excellent choices. XO rice noodles are my favorite. A hint of 🔥 and spicy.

We came here for dinner, and ordered these dishes: H.K. style beef chow fun, Water spinach with fermented tofu in broth, Pork liver with ginger and onion, and Hainan style chicken. Everything tasted great, and I highly recommend trying the Pork liver with ginger and onion! I don't see this dish on other restaurants' menus, and they did a really good job preparing it. They got rid of the bloody smell from the liver really well, and the seasoning was spot on. The texture was tender and slightly crunchy, and it paired perfectly with the ginger!
